A statement from the Special Adviser to the Managing Director of Mutual Benefits, Mr. Gbenga Ogunko, on Friday, said companies from 64 countries participated at the convention, which took place in Paris, France.
The statement added that Mutual Benefits was the second company in the world and first in Nigeria to win the award.
It added that it was awarded based on its commitment to quality, leadership, technology and innovation among others.
The Managing Director, Mutual Benefits, Mr. Akin Ogunbiyi, said the company had recorded a remarkable developement since the end of the last recapitalisation in the insurance industry.
According to the statement, Ogunbiyi noted that it was a good development for the company and for Nigeria at large because it was a sign that the country's insurance industry was being recognised at international level.
"Quality is a consequence of valuing customer satisfaction and obtaining positive business result, which was one of the qualities of the company," he said.
The company, he added, was also providing both technical and economic resources to achieve continuous improvement and respect for the environment.
Mutual, he added, had continuously met the quality levels established in the company of accordance with the QC100 points of quality.
To increase its share in the insurance industry, he added that the company was managing its human resource to achieve the maximum potential.
"We are ensuring enhancement in all our operations in order to be able to satisfy the needs of our clients and meet their expectations," Ogunbiyi said.
